Excellent performances from a star-studded cast elevate director Richard Quine's colorful drama set in New Orleans's French Quarter. With his high-class hotel in severe financial trouble, longtime owner Warren Trent (Melvyn Douglas) turns to loyal manager Peter McDermott (Rod Taylor) for help. Adapted from Arthur Hailey's popular novel, the film co-stars Karl Malden, Merle Oberon, Michael Rennie and Richard Conte.
