Life begins to look promising for homeless pickpocket Ashok (Dev Anand) when he finds employment with a criminal operation and falls for his pretty colleague Nimmo (Kalpana Kartik). The couple tries for a fresh start, but Ashok turns informer to ensure their survival. Putting his life on the line, the former petty thief sets out to expose his former boss, Captain (K.N. Singh), and the crooked business he manages out of House No. 44.
