In a rough neighborhood of Manhattan's Lower East Side, 14-year-old Marcus (Brendan Sexton III) and his mischievous pals find themselves sliding from petty crimes to more serious criminal behavior in this tough and tender coming-of-age drama. Writer-director Morgan J. Freeman's 1997 feature debut became the first narrative film ever to win Audience, Directing and Cinematography awards at the Sundance Film Festival.
