I Am a Camera
(1955)|
With roughly the same plot and characters as Bob Fosse's Broadway and screen hit Cabaret (which earned Oscars for both Fosse and a young Liza Minelli), this nonmusical version of the story stars stage actress Julie Harris in the role of Berlin nightclub singer Sally Bowles. Laurence Harvey co-stars as Sally's ambiguously gay companion, Christopher, and Shelley Winters makes an appearance as the put-upon bride-to-be Natalia.
