Acclaimed Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saura directs this lavish musical drama that recounts the story of Lorenzo Da Ponte (Lorenzo Balducci), the adventurous Italian librettist who collaborated with Mozart on his famed opera "Don Giovanni." As Da Ponte moves through a world filled with wily intrigue, colorful divas and clandestine love affairs, he distills his experiences into the libretto for Mozart's (Lino Guanciale) opera buffa masterpiece.
