Ex-Talking Heads lead singer David Byrne directs this critically acclaimed documentary, which originally aired on PBS. Ile Aiye follows the West African Yoruba immigrants and their Candomble religion as practiced in Brazil. Byrne's nonconformist style works wonderfully behind the camera, as he eloquently captures the Candomble's evocative spirituality and rhythmic music, which has deeply influenced Brazilian culture and composers worldwide.
