The year is 1869. Slavery has been outlawed, but a group of slave merchants continue to smuggle captured Africans to underground markets in the United States. The captives bear their suffering until the spirit that resides in the wood of the ship speaks to Fyah (Djimon Hounsou) and encourages him to lead a revolt against the merchants. Akosua Busia, De'aundre Bonds and Reg E. Cathey co-star, and Eartha Kitt provides the voice of the spirit.
 Restricted. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian.
