Czech-born filmmaker and installation artist Harun Farocki traces the contemporary production and use of the brick in this thoughtful documentary that takes viewers on a multi-continental journey to visit a variety of cultures. Topics include industrial production lines in Germany, France, Austria and Switzerland; community efforts to build a clinic in Burkina Faso; and semi-industrialized moldings in India.
