Shy, lovelorn science teacher Daniel (Moritz Bleibtreu) meets dreadlocked, free-spirited street vendor Juli (Christiane Paul) in Hamburg when she sells him a sun-inscribed ring and tells him he'll fall in love with a woman wearing a similar symbol. While Juli hopes she'll be that woman, Daniel thinks nothing of it -- until he spots her hitchhiking on the side of the road while he's driving to Istanbul to meet with another woman.
