Inspired by "Romeo and Juliet," first-time writer-director Trae Briers's urban romance follows an interracial couple struggling to maintain their relationship amid the intolerance that engulfs them. Cece (Angie Ruiz) and the young poet Yusef (Caleeb Pickett) have been friends since childhood, but when her father discovers they're dating, his simmering prejudice boils over. Meanwhile, Yusef's jailbird cousin also has a deadly racial bone to pick.
