In a desolate Australian valley, something vicious is slaughtering local livestock. Four residents -- a farm couple (Brenda Blethyn, Ray Barrett) with a tragic past, a lonely man (Richard Roxburgh) and a pregnant hippie girl (Miranda Otto) -- come together to stop the bloodthirsty beast. But as they desperately hunt the mysterious creature, they find themselves forced to confront the pasts that still haunt them in this eerie psychological thriller.
