Crime novelist Ellen Carter (Harriet Robinson) gets inspiration for her creepy stories through her own dark secret -- the fact that her husband's body has been concealed within the walls of her home for five years. That all changes when she rents a room in the house to a man named Leslie Steckler (Peter Firth), who winds up finding the body and uses the knowledge to blackmail Ellen.
