Islands in the Stream

  (1977)
Director Franklin J. Schaffner's offbeat film stars George C. Scott as jaded American sculptor Thomas Hudson, who lives in self-imposed exile on the island of Bimini. But his isolation ends when his sons visit just before the outbreak of World War II. Scott delivers the goods in one of his best performances as a conflicted man who tries to do right by his family ... however belatedly. The supporting cast includes Claire Bloom and David Hemmings.
