After baseball star Roy Campanella (Paul Winfield) survives a near-fatal car accident in 1958, he's paralyzed for the rest of his life. Angry and bitter about his condition, Roy's attitude alienates his wife, Ruthie (Ruby Dee), and son David (Ty Henderson). Will he find the strength to accept his fate and reclaim his life? Michael Landon's directorial debut, this poignant biographical drama co-stars Louis Gossett Jr. as Roy's physical therapist.
