An accident sends Prakash (Nagarjun) to the hospital, where doctors diagnose him with a terminal case of cancer. Seeking sanctuary at a resort, Prakash meets and falls in love with fellow cancer patient Gitanjali (Girija) -- a love that gives them both renewed spirit as they face their inescapable mortality. Director Mani Ratnam's touching romance features a memorable score by veteran composer Illayaraja.
