In Yash Chopra's taut thriller, the young and beautiful Rekha (Nanda) finds her life turn into a nightmare when escaped mental patient Dilip Roy (Rajesh Khanna) invades her home and holds her captive. Accused of murder and chased by the police, the desperate fugitive has no choice but to hide out in the first house he comes across and take its owner prisoner. But a strange coincidence leads to another murder, and this time, Roy is not the killer.
