Having grown weary of life in Los Angeles, advertising executive Dinah Hunter (Yvette Mimieux) packs her car and heads for New York. Along the way, she picks up a couple of hitchhikers -- and the nightmare begins. Dinah is carjacked, wrongly jailed, and raped before cold-blooded criminal Colely Blake (Tommy Lee Jones in his first starring role) saves her and the two make a break for it. Can the forged pair survive?
