Golden Globe winner James Franco portrays method actor and all-around rebel James Dean in this made-for-TV biopic that covers his strict upbringing, his ill-fated love affair with actress Pier Angeli (Valentina Cervi) and rise to superstardom. More than any other film icon, Dean represents the notion of an unfulfilled talent who lived fast and died young, becoming an American cultural phenomenon for his portrayals of angst-ridden youths.
