Brothers John (Harris Yulin) and Matt (Stacy Keach) establish a family home on the Ohio frontier, but the two have a grave falling out when Matt steals John's wife, Jennifer (Sarah Miles). Developing into bitter business rivals, the brothers work tirelessly to outdo each other. Based on the novel by James Michener, this sprawling saga co-stars Harrison Ford, Amy Irving, Granville Van Dusen and Charles Weldon.
