Vinay (Dev Anand) has finally found a job working for a prominent local jeweler, to the delight of his police commissioner father. But his good fortune is short-lived when a daring jewel thief wreaks havoc in the city. After a case of mistaken identity ends Vinay's budding romance with his boss's daughter and makes him the key suspect in the recent jewelry heists, Vinay has his work cut out for him -- and work is not his strong suit.
