Inspired by Richard Bach's best-selling novella, this live-action family drama features a Grammy-winning score by Neil Diamond and follows the quest of a young seagull named Jonathan who longs to transcend the boundaries of his flock. Despite the fact that Bach ultimately sued the producers for not staying faithful to his story, the film went on to earn two Academy Award nominations for editing and cinematography.
