Joyce to the World
(2007)|
James Joyce fans gather every June 16 to celebrate Bloomsday, honoring Joyce's novel Ulysses, which takes place entirely on that day in 1904. This film captures the Dublin celebration of the 100th anniversary of the book's fictitious events. Participants wander through the locations mentioned in the novel, and Irish luminaries -- including Frank McCourt, Brian Dennehy and Fionnula Flanagan -- discuss the history and meaning behind the event.
