Good-hearted cowpoke Jubal Troop (Glenn Ford) is looking for work after sustaining an injury during a riding accident. Rancher Shep Horgan (Ernest Borgnine) offers him a job, but before long, storm clouds appear on the horizon in the form of Horgan's coquettish wife, Mae (Valerie French). She has her eyes set on Jubal -- but he's in love with Naomi Hoktor (Felicia Farr). Delmer Daves directs this Western.
