This epic romance set in New York chronicles the story of football player Dev Saran (Shahrukh Khan) and Maya (Rani Mukherjee), who both lead unhappy lives, are committed to loveless marriages but long to follow their hearts and be together. They're always thinking of the other -- until they are ultimately given the chance to explore their enduring love. But their desire to become one is complicated by jealousy, tragedy, guilt and death.
