Living in Jerusalem's ultra-Orthodox quarter, Meir (Yoram Hattab) is deeply in love with his wife, Rivka (Yael Abecassis), even though they remain childless. Meir's rabbi father thinks his son should divorce Rivka because she's not fulfilling her duty as a child bearer. Meanwhile, Rivka's sister (Meital Barda) is in love with a Jewish outcast (Sami Hori), but her rabbi wants her to marry a brute (Uri Klauzner).
