Completely fed up with the brutal treatment they receive from their employers, oppressed workers on a crab canning ship decide to commit mass suicide. But their plans go awry, and their attempt at revolting leads them on an unexpected journey. Based on Takiji Kobayashi's 1929 novel and set during Emperor Hirohito's reign, this adaptation from Japanese actor and filmmaker Sabu presents the classic story in a modern manga style.
