Raju (Shammi Kapoor) comes of age in this Indian musical, and thanks to his now-dead father, he and his mother are extremely rich. Wanting to keep her son on the straight and narrow, Raju's mother attempts to find him a good wife and encourages him to settle down. Instead, Raju runs away to the family's summer home. On his way, he meets the beautiful Champa (Sharmila Tagore), and the two fall in love … against her father's wishes.
