Tough-minded, working-class barrister James Kavanagh, Queen's Counsel (John Thaw), takes on new difficult cases in this anthology of episodes from the acclaimed British television show, including defending a doctor accused of poisoning his wife. Among Kavanagh's other cases is perhaps his most unusual yet: an accused husband-killer who -- over Kavanagh's strenuous objections -- openly declares that she is guilty.
