James Kavanagh (John Thaw) rose from hardscrabble beginnings to become an elite Queen's Counsel barrister, and he is now devoted to seeing justice served in the most difficult cases, including a woman who accuses the police of trumping up a charge against her. These episodes from the British television drama also include one in which Kavanagh argues to reopen the case of a convicted murderer whose jury Kavanagh himself served on years before.
