Sanju (Sanjay Dutt), a kind, orphaned conman, owes Jogia Seth (Paresh Rawal) a hefty sum. To save an orphan held hostage, Sanju poses as the distant American relative of the Chaudhary family, hoping to acquire some of their wealth. Meanwhile, the Chaudharys have given up hope of marrying off their only daughter (Urmila Matondkar). But Sanju transforms the simple girl into a glamorous beauty and earns further gratitude by uniting the family.
