In Kickboxer 3, champion David Sloan (Sasha Mitchell), together with his trainer Xian (Dennis Chan), arrives in Rio de Janeiro for a show fight. Soon, David's confronted with the darker sides of the city, which leads to some pitched battles for him outside the ring. In Kickboxer 4, David is framed by Tong Po for a murder he didn't commit and is sent to prison.
