Journalist Ann Baurer (Gabrielle Anwar) accidentally discovers an evil doctor's (David Naughton) moneymaking scheme involving genetically mutated bees that possess mysterious illness-curing venom. The medicinal bees also happen to be carrying a deadly, fast-moving virus -- something Baurer doesn't realize until after several crates of the insects are put on a plane bound for New York.
