When the ornery patriarch of the Slocumb clan suddenly croaks, his dysfunctional extended family -- led by his stoic widow (Whoopi Goldberg) -- gathers to mourn his passing ... or at least that's what they're supposed to do. But a family closet overflowing with soured relationships and bitter feelings turns the funeral into a day full of bickering. LL Cool J is terrific as the son trying to come to grips with his feelings about his dad.
