After the death of his drug lord uncle, educated Mexican American Miguel (Yancey Arias) rises to the leadership position of his criminal family. Throughout their dealings, he and his wife (Sheryl Lee) strive to shield their son from the brutal facts of their business. They also attempt to dodge the efforts of relentless U.S. authorities who want to take them down. Bobby Cannavale co-stars as Miguel's trustworthy brother, Chato.
