Forensic psychologist Alex Cross (Morgan Freeman) travels to North Carolina and teams with escaped kidnap victim Kate McTiernan (Ashley Judd) to hunt down "Casanova," a serial killer who abducts strong-willed women and forces them to submit to his demands.
