This bittersweet drama follows working girl Kitty Foyle (Ginger Rogers) as she chases her storybook dreams. While earning a living as a department store clerk, Kitty becomes romantically entangled with a Philadelphia society scion (Dennis Morgan) and an unassuming physician (James Craig). Rogers received a well-deserved Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the film, which also stars Gladys Cooper as Morgan's sniffish mother.
