A young deaf-and-dumb man (Sanjeev Kumar) meets a similarly handicapped girl (Jaya Bhaduri) at the market, and they fall in love and get married. When their son is born, they're anxious to know whether he's also impaired -- and are overjoyed to discover he's perfectly normal. This deeply moving love story is directed by Gulzar and showcases two great talents of the Hindi film screen: Jaya Bhaduri and Sanjeev Kumar. Music is by Madan Mohan.
