A trio of French hipsters (played by Sylvie Testud, Stanislas Merhar and Olga Legrand) and their interpreter (Pascal Bongard) journey to Tbilissi, Georgia, to take possession of a dilapidated castle bequeathed to one of the threesome. Along the way, the travelers cross paths with an old man (Leo Gaparidze) and his grandson (George Babluani), who are trekking to a rival village to take part in a grim ritual that will end an age-old blood feud.
