Wanted for murder, a man (Jean Gabin) enlists in the French Foreign Legion to escape the bounty hunters who want to collect on his head. Along the way, he finds friendship, love and combat in the parched deserts of southern Morocco. Shot on location in 1935 using real Foreign Legion troops, this war saga was directed by Julien Duvivier.
