The legendary Royal Ballet presents this pastoral ballet set to the music of Ferdinand Hérold, with choreography by Frederick Ashton. Prima ballerina Lesley Collier plays Lise, a young farm girl forced to marry against her heart's desire. John Lanchbery conducts this playful work featuring Garry Grant, Brian Shaw and Michael Coleman. This production of "La Fille Mal Gardée" was filmed for BBC television at Covent Garden in January 1981.
