La Voix Humaine

  (1990)
In a 1930s Paris apartment, a woman (American soprano Julia Migenes) receives an important phone call from the lover who has left her. Her side of the highly dramatic conversation forms the basis of this gripping concerto for voice and orchestra. Featuring a libretto by the great Jean Cocteau, this work receives a sterling treatment by the Orchestre National de France, under the baton of Georges Prêtre.
