During the brutal early days of World War II, Kwan Mei (Anna May Wong), a Chinese aristocrat, is forced to work in the rice paddies as a slave of the Japanese. She and the rest of her village must suffer the brutal whims of their captors, who are sadistic and greedy. But when it appears the Japanese general is bewitched by Kwan Mei's beauty, she sees her chance for vengeance … and takes it! Mae Clark co-stars. William Nigh directs.
