Soon after Vaidehi (Manisha Koirala) marries Raghuvir (Jackie Shroff), she becomes pregnant. Desperate to escape her unhappy marriage, she runs away with her unborn child, but she's pursued by her chauvinistic husband and must enlist the help of strangers. Lending a hand are a bride-to-be (Mahima Chaudhury), a theatre artist (Madhuri Dixit) and a village midwife (Rekha). Raj Kumar Santoshi directs this inspirational film with music by Anu Malik.
