Building on the success of his feature film debut, Dil Chahta Hai, Bollywood director Farhan Akhtar made this follow-up based on a misguided teenager's eventual transformation into a war martyr. Tracing the Indian army's conflicts with Pakistani trespassers in 1999, the film follows the young army cadet as he gradually builds up his own integrity through his experiences. Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and Preity Zinta star.
