Thriving businessman Chen Handong is the head of a Beijing trading company. When he's introduced to architecture student Lan Yu, Handong is interested in him sexually but doesn't want a long-term relationship. Hoping to deflect Lan Yu's feelings, Handong buys him lavish gifts, then gets involved with another man. After going their separate ways, the two meet up again by chance, and it's only then that Handong realizes his true feelings.
