Last Resort
(2000)|
When a young Russian woman (Dina Korzun) and her son (Artyom Strelnikov) leave Moscow to meet her fiancé -- who fails to show up -- she's trapped in a foreign country with no other choice but to declare political asylum. But working with England's immigration authorities proves to be more complicated than she thought. Director Pawel Pawlikowski also co-wrote the screenplay (along with Rowan Joffe) for this bleak Russian drama.
