Ever since he left his frenzied professional life for the quiet Mexican countryside, French author Alexandre (Alain Delon) has been a happier man. But the rumblings of revolution seem to be tempting chaos, bringing an ambitious actress (Arielle Dombasle) and her producer (Karl Zero) to Alexandre's home to turn one of his books into a film. Meanwhile, his wife (Marianne Denicourt) is flirting with a local scientist (Xavier Beauvois).
