A liberal Jewish philosophy student (Laura Fraser) takes a job as nanny to the 4-year-old son (Adam Monty) of a strict Hasidic family. Despite generational and cultural conflicts, the experience opens her mind to her Jewish identity and that of her Holocaust survivor parents. Actor Jeroen Krabbe (Prince of Tides), who plays the boy's father, makes his directorial debut with this drama set in early 1970s Antwerp, Belgium.
