When the clan of a beautiful princess is wiped out by an attacking army of phantom warriors, the dispossessed potentate hooks up with eight freelance samurai to defeat the ghostly swordsmen. Along the way, they learn that a powerful witch commands the ghostly warriors, setting the stage for the ultimate battle in which the witch must be destroyed at all costs.
