Ho is a Sung Dynasty scholar who has left his small town to finish a Buddhist sutra in the peace and tranquility of the country. While there, he meets two beautiful young women who compete for his affection. But they turn out to be ghosts in disguise who are not interested in Ho; they want the sutra that he has almost finished.
